"Help name our baby!": Peter Andre's extraordinary plea

In a move that would make even the most seasoned reality TV stars proud, singer and TV personality Peter Andre and his doctor wife, Emily MacDonagh, have left the world scratching their heads in anticipation.

No, they haven't announced a new album or a TV show. They've done something far more thrilling – they've welcomed their third child into the world... without a name!

Now, don't get us wrong – people give birth to nameless babies all the time. But in a plot twist worthy of a daytime soap opera, Andre and his wife have turned to their loyal Instagram followers for help. Because, you know, who needs baby name books when you have a horde of social media enthusiasts at your disposal?

In a heartwarming post, the "Mysterious Girl" crooner shared a precious snapshot of MacDonagh and their latest addition, writing that the tiny little bub is "just minutes old". Forget about sleepless nights and diaper changes; the real dilemma here is what to call this bundle of joy.

"We feel so overwhelmed right now," Andrew wrote. "So happy to welcome our beautiful girl to the family.

"Mum and daughter are doing amazing. Born Tuesday 2nd April 2024, 7lb 3oz and thankfully very healthy.

"Baby has been spoilt with cuddles from Junior, Princess, Amelia and Theo who are all in love with their new little sister. As parents, we couldn’t be happier.

"Only thing is…. She has no name yet. Help!"

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Peter Andre (@peterandre)

Cue the floodgates of creativity opening wider than ever. "Daisy (April’s birth flower). Ariel (from the April horoscope, Aries). Avril (meaning April in French). Blossom (because it’s common in April). Pascal (a French name meaning ‘born on Easter’). Lily (after the Lily of the valley flower that blooms in April in the UK). Diamond (April’s birthstone). Raine/Reign (after April’s showers). Iris (from the Greek meaning ‘rainbow’). Moses (in reference to Passover). Israella (also in reference to Passover)."

"Did you know Melissa means honeybee in Greek and is also the name of a Greek goddess…. Just letting ya know cos I think it’s a pretty cool name 👀😂💖," wrote another fan whose name is, you guessed it, Melissa.

Other fans kept it more straightforward. "Connie or Beatrice ❤️."

As we eagerly await the grand unveiling of Baby Andre's name, one thing is for sure – this little one is already making headlines, and she doesn't even have a name yet.

Images: Instagram

"Little bump in the road": Olympian shares joyous news

Australian swimming sensation Emily Seebohm and former reality TV star Ryan Gallagher have made quite the splash with their pregnancy announcement. In a video that had everyone saying, "Aw!" and reaching for their tissues (mostly to wipe away tears of laughter), Seebohm proudly displayed her baby bump while Gallagher mimicked her with his own not-so-impressive belly.

With Ed Sheeran's "Perfect" playing in the background, Seebohm, sporting an unbuttoned white shirt and jeans that were unbuttoned for extra effect, radiated joy as she embraced and smooched her soon-to-be baby daddy. She captioned the post, "We've had a little bump in the road 👶🏼." No pun intended, of course.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by ᴇᴍɪʟʏ ᴊᴀɴᴇ ꜱᴇᴇʙᴏʜᴍ 🦋 (@emcbomb)

Now, let's talk about Gallagher's side of the story. Nat Barr stuns retired navy expert with blunt Titan query

Sunrise host Natalie Barr has weighed in on the missing Titan submersible, posing a question that appeared to take an experienced - and retired - US Navy submarine commander by surprise.

Barr was speaking to David Marquet about the vessel - which went missing in the North Atlantic with five passengers onboard and only 96 hours of life support - and its dangerous predicament.

Rescue teams have been racing against the clock and fighting difficult search conditions in a bid to locate the Titan submersible after it went missing on a journey to explore the sunken wreckage of the Titanic.

And while reports of banging from deep beneath the ocean’s surface have offered some a glimmer of hope - and others a sense of dread - the high-stakes situation has crews on edge, and left many wondering what had led to the decision to descend, for the Titan’s passengers and owners alike.

Reports have begun to circulate that the Titan had been plagued with safety concerns prior to this trip, and during former dives, and Barr sought more information from Marquet on that matter.

“We are still hearing all the things people are saying about why they should not have gone,” she said. “The passenger window was only certified to go half the depth that it went.

“Should they be there in the first place?”

The to-the-point question appeared to stun the ex-commander, who needed to take a moment before proceeding with his answer.

“They are adults, and they made a decision. It’s hard to question the judgement,” he said, before going on to note that the CEO of OceanGate - the company responsible for the missing vessel - had been one of the five people onboard, “so obviously he believes in the equipment.”

“Knowing what I know,” Marquet added, “what it takes to keep nuclear submarines running, you would not be finding me on that ship, but it’s easy after-the-fact to find criticism.”

He then shared that while he did have an appreciation for people who chose to push “the envelope in terms of exploring and innovation”, that “sometimes they push a little too far”.

The “still possible” search for the Titan continues, though the US Coast Guard have stated that it has less than 24 hours of available air remaining, and even if they are able to locate the submersible, massive challenges still lie ahead in retrieving it from the conditions so far below the surface.

Images: Sunrise / Seven

Olympic champ unable to sleep following break in

Olympic swimmer Emily Seebohm has opened up about a frightening late night invasion at the home she shares with her fiancé David Gallagher.

Emily, who is now having trouble getting to sleep in the wake of the break in, told Seven about the ordeal, detailing how she and David had come to discover the worrying scene early on a Sunday.

“We had someone break into our garage yesterday morning between 5:30 and 6:30,” Emily said, before noting that while that was a normal time for her to be up and about on a weekday, on Sundays she preferred to have a sleep in.

“So, I didn’t hear anything, but we first noticed - when Ryan woke up and was heading to work at 9:30 - that the garage door was left open,” she continued. “Which is really odd, because I’m pretty meticulous about making sure that everything’s closed up and locked.”

Emily went on to share that she’d made sure the pantry door was locked before going to bed, as their garage led to the laundry, and to the pantry from there, providing access to their home. She was “very thankful for [that], because they couldn’t get into the house.”

However, as Emily pointed out, “somehow they did manage to get into all of our cars. Not sure how, we believe that they might have opened the garage door from Ryan’s car - he has a buzzer in his car - but why just open the garage? Why not open the gate?

“All of our keys were inside, so luckily they couldn’t steal any of the cars.”

But while the thieves had not succeeded in entering the house itself, they hadn’t gone away empty handed, with Emily revealing that “they did steal my wallet, my credit cards, basically everything in my wallet, and they rummaged through the cars.”

She and David had gone to investigate the state of the garage, but hadn’t wanted to disturb the cars and any potential evidence contained within them, and so they’d opted to leave the vehicles alone.

Emily did go on to show the vehicles though, both inside and out, noting the open glove boxes and items strewn across the front seats, as well as pointing out the spot in the door where her wallet typically sits.

According to Emily, it had been “very scary waking up to that” and that she “didn’t sleep well” the following night, but she had hopes that they’d get some answers soon, with police on their way to inspect the scene, and “hopefully get some fingerprints”.

Images: Seven

93-year-old grandma shares her blunt dating advice with the world

A 93-year-old woman from the United States has reached viral heights on social media with her frank dating advice for singles around the world - particularly when it comes to which men she thinks it best to avoid.

In a series she calls ‘Red Flags for Guys’, Lillian Droniak has educated - and entertained - her audiences, warning them off of everyone from those who won’t open doors to those who won’t provide regular compliments, don’t have soup on hand, and don’t like bingo.

In a later entry, she expanded on her own list, declaring that those who lie about their height, those who are water signs, anyone with a name starting with the letter J, plays golf, and don’t like cats are major red flags in the romantic department.

“If he doesn't like bingo, I don't date him because I love bingo,” she explained. “If he doesn't keep enough soup for me in the refrigerator. I always like soup and eat soup … if he doesn't call me pretty all the time, I don't want anything to do with him.”

As Lillian told Good Morning America of her decision to launch her account, she gives her advice because she’s already been through it, and that the next generation “are maybe too young to think about it.

“I was bashful when I was young. And now I’m too much trouble sometimes.”

And while Lillian is happy to dish out her advice, it isn’t without some personal experience. The grandmother has also been open with her followers about her own journey back into the realm of dating, even sharing a clip of her preparing for an upcoming date after 25 years without embarking on one.

“My first date in 25 years and he's going to pick me up in 20 minutes,” she said. “I'm getting nervous now. I met him at bingo and that's the way it goes.

“He's really handsome and I couldn't say no ... I might kiss him, you never know but I'm going to still put lipstick on just in case.”

"If he doesn't like it, he could leave,” she explained, after showcasing her outfit for the camera, “all I want is a free dinner.

“I'm not even going to bring my wallet or my purse. I'll let you know how it goes.”

Unfortunately, it wasn’t destined to work out for Lillian and her would-be partner, as she later returned to inform everyone that she “just got back from my date and it was no good.

“He didn't even look at my outfit and say that it looks pretty. He was rude to the waiter, he was just a rude person. He didn't even hold the door for me like a gentleman should.

“Bottom line he wasn't a gentleman, not my type. And he was shorter than me.”

Images: TikTok

She said, ‘Mum, I don’t want to live in a world where women cannot age’.

“I think it’s important to really own this ageing thing and not make it a problem, not make it something we can’t talk about. There’s no guilt or shame around ageing. This is something that happens to everyone, you know?” she said.

“I understand the insecurity, the pressure that we get, especially in our business. But if somebody doesn’t start saying, ‘This is my age, this is who I am, my wrinkles are my wrinkles, I own my wrinkles, this is my whole life…’ it’s kind of sad.”

Having landed her first big break at 52, Leroy-Beaulieu knows what it means to be an older woman in an industry that prioritises youth above almost everything else.

But she wants to pass on this message that getting older doesn’t mean you need to quietly disappear.

“You know how hard it is when you pass 45 or even 40 and people start thinking, ‘Just get out of the scene’. But there’s so much we can do and transmit,” she told Grazia.

“We have a lot to teach the younger girls.”

Image: Getty Images

"It has to stop": Karl's blunt plea after anti-vaxxers hijack student's death

Karl Stefanovic used his platform on The Today Show to plead with those spreading misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccine.

The TV host discussed the high profile case of Year 12 student Tom van Dijk, who passed away last week after suffering from a cardiac arrest while swimming with his family.

Karl went on to say that Tom's school was forced to step in when a flood of social media messages incorrectly linked his untimely death to the COVID-19 vaccine.

"He had a cardiac arrest. So what happens? Thousands of faceless keyboard warriors take it upon themselves to seize on his awful death in front of his family, circulating false information, blaming his death on vaccinations," he said.

"His school already dealing with grief amongst students was forced to confirm he hadn't even had a vaccination yet."

"Imagine the added stress on that poor young man's family...their pain and their tragedy made worse by lies on social media."

Karl went on to say the spread of misinformation is dangerous and "it has to stop".

Tom van Dijk died on August 21, which was confirmed by his school principal, John Couani, at St Pius X College in Chatswood, Sydney.

Couani reiterated Karl Stefanovic's claims about vaccine misinformation, saying he is unsure why the dangerous rumours started in the first place.

The misinformation is horrific, there was nothing to do with mental health, this is purely a health issue,” he said.

“The school did not force students to be vaccinated — the school is not in a hotspot or local government area of concern, nor was it eligible for the priority vaccination program — we’ve made no statement calling for vaccinations of students.”

Woman goes viral for sharing therapist’s simple tip to fall asleep

One woman has shared this simple yet effective tip to combatting your insomnia.

Emily Bronchu took to TikTok to reveal her therapist’s trick to help you sleep better.

“So a therapist gave me this trick for when you can’t sleep, I’m gonna share it with you for free cause I paid for the information,” she said.

“So I was laying in bed and I can’t sleep. I put on my Sleep Stories, I went to bed at a normal time, I just couldn’t sleep. I was tossing and turning, tossing and turning, tossing and turning.”

Emily says the key to fixing this is setting a “time limit”.

“If you’re not sleeping within 20 minutes, get up and write down everything that you’re thinking about and do it until you’re tired and then go back to sleep. And it works,” she said.

“The reason it’s important to get out of bed is that if you stay in bed your brain will eventually connect with ‘I’m supposed to be awake when I am here.’ You don’t want that connection to make you stay up super late, and when you go to bed you’re gonna be tired.”

The post racked up over 98,000 likes and a number of comments from people sharing this trick had worked for them. Hundreds of people commenting on the clip, with many saying it had worked for them too.

One person wrote, “I do something similar when I can’t sleep bc of stress. I get up and write down every single thing I’m stressed about, gets them out of my brain.”

Another added, “I’ve recently been writing down all my thoughts in my journal before I go to bed and it helps me clear my mind so that I’m not thinking about every possibility.”

The blunt comment from Dan Andrews' wife that made him cut his holiday short

Victorian premier Daniel Andrews has revealed that he returned to work two weeks earlier than planned after a cheeky comment from his wife.

He had been taking a holiday over the Christmas and New Year's period but revealed his wife was the reason for his early return.

“To be honest, Cath said to me last night ‘you’re on the phone, 20 hours a day, you should just go back’,” he told reporters when asked about his unplanned return on Thursday.

This is due to Andrews monitoring the recent coronavirus spike in Victoria from home.

“I’ve been at home. About 25 minutes from here,” he said.

“So yes, I did not plan on being here with you today, but I am almost sure I think I was due to come back on about the 20th.

“It’s not about me, I’m not, I’m not seeking your collective sympathy. Their job is a job to be done … I’ve been following things very closely and very actively and this is the right thing to do.”

The premier came under fire for taking leave as Victoria recorded its first cases of community transmission in 61 days.

"Why is Dan Andrews on holidays? I'm sure we all remember the outrage last year when Scott Morrison went on leave," one man tweeted.

Another added: "Where is the faithful leader Dictator now? Don't be a d**k: Sam Armytage's blunt appeal after copping abuse from strangers

Samantha Armytage has asked Australians to show more tolerance and “try really hard to not be a d**k” after copping abuse from strangers.

Writing for Stellar Magazine, the Sunrise host spoke about a dew recent incidents while out and about in Sydney.

The first run-in saw Armytage sworn at by a driver at the traffic lights after he abruptly swerved into her lane while she drove her ill parents home from hospital.

“We were driving along, minding our own business in the centre lane of traffic, when a bloke pulled out of a side street,” she penned.

“He swung dangerously into my lane, almost T-boning us.”

“I’m not ashamed to tell you, he gave me a fright. And he terrified my country-parent passengers. So, yes, I beeped him, and yes, he bloody deserved it,” she added.

“Now, I can hold my own. You don’t survive a career in TV and an all-girls boarding school and be faint of heart.”

“But the abuse this guy dished out to me at the traffic lights would have made a sheepdog blush.”

“There were some words in there even I hadn’t heard, and I pride myself on my potty mouth. And it was TOTALLY HIS FAULT. It was full-on, even by Sydney-traffic standards.”

Another time, Armytage said she was scolded at a local park after she ran out of plastic bags to pick up her dog Banjo’s poo.

“I won’t go into too much detail about Banjo’s bowel movements that day, but let’s just say we had a two-poo situation and I only had one bag,” she wrote.

“So, at the point of the second turd, I stopped and waited patiently (as any good parent would) for another lovely, kind dog owner to walk past with a spare plastic bag. It’s called karma and I’m a big believer in it.”

“Well, old mate from the traffic must have had a twin brother walking in the park. Because another abusive fellow walked past and started shouting some more four-letter words at me about picking up the poo.”

“It was ridiculous, unnecessary and just plain dickery.”

“At this stage I considered picking up the poo in my bare hands and pegging it at that idiot.”

“But this wasn’t the Serengeti, even though people were behaving like animals, so I ignored him.”

Samantha concluded by saying while it’s normal to feel stressed and anxious during these uncertain times, she believes it’s important that we continue to respect each other.

“We’ve all been socially isolated for so long; it could just happen. So be a bit tolerant. And just try really, really hard not to be a d**k,” she said.
